Get Involved!
Neighbors Helping Neighbors Annual Town Benefit Day is the second Sunday in August (that's August 13, 2023) from 11am to 5pm on the Westminster town common at Academy Hill. It is a fun day full of live music, raffles, kids games, petting zoo, teen activities and great food. All money raised goes directly to helping families in crisis in Westminster.

OWN A BOOTH
A few years ago the Graham family asked how they could get involved with Benefit Day. After a little brainstorming, they decided they would come up with an idea and build it--a football toss game, and they even get volunteers for the booth on Benefit Day.

Setup for Town Benefit Day starts on Thursday night. Town Benefit Day is on August 14, 2022. This means that on Thursday, August 11th, Neighbors Helping Neighbors volunteers, along with our wonderful Westminster Lions Club, will be on Academy Hill, setting up tents for the 2022 Neighbors Helping Neighbors Town Benefit Day. Many hands make light work! Show up anytime between 5pm - 7pm.
What do you like to do? That's the big question, because we have so many volunteer opportunities that you can choose which area-of-need you'd like to be involved with!
Email Volunteer Coordinator Deb Baker at debake60@yahoo.com
She would be happy to connect you to any of these volunteer opportunities:
Auction Tents
Bake Sale
Benefit Boutique
Farmers' Market
Food Trucks
Ice Cream
Kids Flea Market
Kids Games
Petting Zoo
Pull Tabs
Recycling/Trash
School Supply Tent
Maybe you aren't a fan of the activity level that *is* Benefit Day and would prefer to show up after the day is done. We love this kind of person! Because...We. Are. Tired. We appreciate energetic people who can help us put closure to the day. These people take down tents, move mid-weight items across the street to the barn, help shut down booths...and just in general HELP WHERE THEY ARE NEEDED!

HELP WITH CLEANUP
Some people come to Town Benefit Day just for the Chinese Auction and the Over The Top Auction. We always have a wide range of prizes. If your family, employer or your own business can provide a prize, please drop prizes off at the Police Station anytime! Please be sure to indicate who the donor is.
Twice each year Neighbors Helping Neighbors does a town wide mailing, asking for help with making Benefit Day a success. Not everyone can be at Town Benefit Day. If you are able to donate, please send your tax deductible contributions to Westminster Benefit Fund, P.O. Box 63, Westminster, MA 01473 or use the link to the left to make an online donation.
Our Farmers' Market booth welcomes overstock garden items: herbs, produce, plants, etc. Some people even plant extra veggies in their garden just for this purpose! Donations can be dropped off at Emerald City Indoor Garden Center at 51 Main Street, Westminster the week ahead of Town Benefit Day, or on Academy Hill on Sunday, August 14 anytime after 7am.
I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again. ~William Penn
